A Message From Your Principal

Hello Lincoln Lions,

As we move into October and Parent Conference Week, it's a good time to review a few procedures that help keep our school safe and running smoothly.

Drop-Off and Pickup - Mornings are going well. Students have been getting out of their cars quickly and heading into school, so thank you! We do still have a few drivers parking and leaving their cars in the white zone in front of the school. Please remember that the white zone is for drop-off only, and drivers should stay in their vehicles. If you would like to walk your child in, please park outside the white zone. We'll soon be introducing a program to make morning drop-off even easier, and I'll share details when it's ready.

In the afternoon, even with 451 students leaving at once, we all need to follow the rules of the road. Parking in red zones, in front of driveways, or on the wrong side of the street is strictly prohibited. It makes dismissal more difficult and actually slows everyone down.

Arriving On Time - We're starting to see an uptick in students arriving after the bell. I understand that mornings are getting darker and the excitement of a new school year has started to wear off, but punctuality matters. I'm asking all of us to stay disciplined and make on-time arrival a priority. The yard is open before school, and teachers are on duty starting at 8:15 a.m. to supervise.

The MPR Is Back! - Last week, we reopened the MPR with brand-new tables. This space allows us to hold more assemblies, large band rehearsals, after-school sports, and indoor lunch on rainy days. By all predictions, we're in for a wet winter, so it's good to be prepared.

Maker Space Coming Soon - With the MPR open again, we can now fully set up our Maker Space. It will be a dynamic room where students of all grades can collaborate on projects, get creative, build science and engineering skills, and have fun. Look for classes to begin visiting in late October.
